We have started work on a new project in partnership with St Petrock & Heavitree Parish Lands Charity, supporting the refurbishment of much-needed almshouse accommodation in Exeter.

The project begins at the charity’s Frances Gardens, a collection of 12 ground and first-floor flats with communal gardens located close to Exeter city centre.  The Armada team will upgrade some of the existing accommodation, helping to ensure the flats continue to provide safe, comfortable and independent living for current and future residents. Further works are also planned by Armada across two additional properties owned by the charity.

Ben Coggins, Director at Armada Property, said: “We’re pleased to be working with St Petrock & Heavitree Parish Lands Charity on this important scheme. These homes play a vital role in supporting older people in Exeter to live independently, and our work is focused on refurbishing and upgrading the existing flats to improve their condition, comfort and long-term usability.”

St Petrock & Heavitree Parish Lands Charity provides housing for people aged over 55 who are able to live independently but are on a low income and have a strong local connection to Exeter. The charity’s almshouses offer safe, affordable homes, helping residents maintain independence while remaining part of their community.

The refurbishment programme will enhance the quality, comfort and durability of these homes, ensuring they continue to meet the needs of current and future residents.

Katie, General Manager and Clerk to the Feoffeees at St Petrock & Heavitree said: “Working with Armada Property on these refurbishment works is a key step in maintaining our housing stock.  The improvements will help us keep these homes in good condition and fit for purpose for the people who rely on them.”

Ben concluded: “This project reflects Armada Property’s ongoing commitment to delivering high quality refurbishment work that make a meaningful difference to local communities.”
